Damaged Takata Airbags were revealed

After Wahyu Airbag Takata which was damaged in passenger vehicles, the Safety Administration of the US National Highway Traffic (NHTSA) had called for the withdrawal of national airbags. While Toyota and Honda have announced the same withdrawal, Takata Chair said the company's production procedures were being strictly investigated. And NHTSA urged the national expansion of the withdrawal of the damaged driver's airbag.

When the first report from the damaged airbags inflartors regarding the news, Takata began to examine the solution to the problem. The problem was first discovered when the New York Times published a report on airbags in 2004. Then, Takata executives ordered engineers to destroy all data and physical evidence. This is four years before the public recognition of the problem. In 2007, voluntary withdrawals were issued, but many car owners had to wait two years before they found out that their airbags were damaged.

In addition to the new withdrawal, Ford Defective Takata Airbags added 900,000 additional vehicles to the list of vehicles affected. This list now includes Mustang and Ranger 2009-2014, as well as a number of vehicles that were not previously drawn by the manufacturer. And that before Ford added an additional model to the list of vehicles affected. And that does not even include the vibration of pontiac. In this paper, there are now more than six million vehicles in the US affected by the takata airbag withdrawal.

The latest incident involved Takata airbags that broke out at the Honda Civic 2005. According to the car maker, the breaking airbag killed the woman, although the official cause of death was still unknown. Vehicles, which were withdrawn in May 2015, have not been repaired. If called back after the accident, this will make him the third death involving takata airbags in Malaysia.

The company has settled with 44 states and columbia district. The company agreed to pay a $ 650 million civilian penalty to the car maker, but the State Attorney General did not collect this amount. They want to maximize recovery for airbag victims. And while this settlement is good news for consumers, car makers still have concerns about financial recovery. It still needs to be seen whether the submission of bankruptcy Takata will cause an expanded compensation program.

As a result of the withdrawal, the car maker has agreed to withdraw 35-40 million additional air inflarators. This inflator is not dry, which means that they do not have drying substances. To ensure their safety, companies must show that dry inflarators are safe. The company has agreed to remember the damaged airbags gradually until December 2019. The right model of affected vehicles has not been identified, but they are all equipped with takata inflator.

Responding to this death, the Japanese company Honda has announced that they will no longer use the Airbag Takata component. Honda has been the biggest customer of Takata for many years and has now stopped buying its inflator. Toyota, Mazda and Subaru also considered to throw takata as a supplier of airbags. The company estimates that withdrawals will be charged more than $ 1 billion in lost income.
