What does it mean to be LGBTQ FRIENDLY? A community where LGBTQ people feel safe and welcome is referred to as LGBTQ FRIENDLY. It is important to know that this label isn't synonymous with "out of control", as it can refer to many things. This article will give you some insight into the different types of policies and programs that make a place LGBTQ FRIENDLY. A city that is LGBTQ FRIENDLY should not have a stigma attached to it. The Human Rights Campaign ranked cities in the state as "out and proud" in 2021. For example, in Kansas City, a city is considered "out" if it has a history of discrimination. Likewise, in Columbia, a college town, the city has a history of homophobia. While it is a mellower city than Kansas City, it does have some gay-friendly amenities. The Arboretum is another attraction in Greensboro, a city with a history of homophobia. And while the city of High Point, North Carolina, is known as the "furniture capital of the world," its gay population is a spike during big furniture shows.

In the state of Montana, certain cities are considered LGBTQ FRIENDLY. Missoula, a progressive bastion in the Big Sky, is a great place for LGBTQ Americans. Home to the University of Montana, it's also a city with many LGBTQ+-friendly activities like gay chorus groups and running clubs. Similarly, Bozeman and Helena are viewed as LGBTQ FRIENDLY by many. For those seeking an alternative to the usual coastal vacation, try a city with an LGBTQ-friendly community.

Many of these patients may have problems finding a physician who accepts their sexual orientation or gender identity. If you're not yet a medical provider, you can use a directory of known LGBTQ friendly physicians to find a doctor for your patients. These directories are free and can be accessed online.

While Massachusetts has no "bad" laws aimed at protecting LGBTQ residents, it has a high rate of hate crimes based on sexual orientation and gender identity. In addition, police departments must report the number of hate crimes committed in their jurisdictions. Further, Massachusetts has no religious exemptions to anti-discrimination laws. Despite the high number of hate crimes, the state continues to strive to ensure that everyone in the LGBTQ community has equal rights.
