A video of a private Shiraz Addiction Treatment Camp has been released in cyberspace. The video clearly reveals that officials of the camp treated patients in an inappropriate way. In an effort to prevent a similar incident in the future, the Fars province has launched an investigation into the private camp's conduct. Nonetheless, the public will have to wait for the results of the forensic opinion to make a final judgment.

In these rehab centres, staff members regularly hit and yell insults at patients. The video also shows them hitting patients with batons and shouting abuse. The video is disturbing and will likely prompt more people to seek treatment in Shiraz. However, many Iranians are reluctant to seek treatment in Iran.
